Eternals producer Nate Moore explains how Marvel prevented Richard Madden?s Ikaris from being too much like DC?s Superman with so many shared powers.

Eternals producer Nate Moore has explained how Marvel Studios prevented Richard Madden?s Ikaris from being too much like DC?s Superman. In theaters on November 5, the third Phase 4 film to take place within the Marvel Cinematic Universe will introduce a new team of heroes: the Eternals. The movie’s star-studded cast includes Gemma Chan, Kit Harington, Salma Hayek, Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry, and Dong-seok Ma, Don Lee, Lia McHugh, Lauren Ridloff, and Richard Madden.

Eternals follows a race of immortals, who have been absent throughout the MCU?s history despite being sent to Earth 7,000 years ago by their creators, the Celestials. As explained in the film?s trailers, the Celestials instructed the Eternals not to interfere in human conflicts unless Deviants, their villainous counterparts, are involved. However, the events of Avengers: Endgame have caused an ?Emergence? that makes way for the release of a new horde of Deviants, motivating the Eternals to reveal themselves and protect humanity. In previous clips, Madden?s Ikaris can be seen flying, fighting with super-strength, and using blasts of cosmic heat vision to fight Deviants, all of which are classic powers which are also used by DC?s Clark Kent/Superman.

In January 2020, Screen Rant visited the Eternals set at Pinewood Studios, where Nate Moore explained how the filmmakers? stopped Madden?s powers from being too much like that of Superman. Moore explained that all of the Eternals utilize “cosmic energy” in different ways, giving them powers that are unique to them. What’s more, Ikaris’ eye-beams are yellow, specifically differing from Superman’s red vision. Read Moore?s explanation below:

?Ikaris’ powers you have seen before, obviously there’s a lot of similarities to Superman. So how do we make his cosmic eyebeams that aren’t the red lasers that we’ve come to know and have become iconic for that character? For us, it’s all about the cosmic energy and really leaning into that.?

The-Eternals-Ikaris-Superman

In in the original Marvel comics, each Eternal has the powers of super-strength, telepathy, telekinesis, teleportation, matter manipulation, flight, creating illusions, and shooting cosmic rays. The MCU?s take on these characters sees each Eternal specialize in one or two abilities, while all possessing super-strength and invulnerability. In both the source material and on the big screen, Ikaris is being hyped as one of the Eternals? strongest members. On top of that, he sports a blue suit, which only exacerbates comparisons to Superman.

Outside of his powers, Ikaris? characterization will likely further the gap between himself and the Man of Steel. Eternals is rumored to feature a love triangle involving Ikaris, Sersi (Chan), and Dane Whitman (Harrington). Ikaris and Sersi?s love spans centuries thanks to the 7,000 year timeline of the film. However, the pair’s views on humanity may differ, leading to trouble in paradise. If Ikaris proves more cynical, it will be interesting to see how the MCU’s depiction of him deviates from the comics and, in turn, DC’s Superman. Regardless, he won’t be faster than a speeding bullet.

No matter how many years pass because the legacy of Mac Miller it lasts, shines and remains intact. The rapper left this world in 2018 and after his death, the whole world, his fans, all those who have enjoyed his music continue to remember him with affection, even gratitude.

And it is that even after these years, in our mind -and surely an infinite number of playlists- many of his tremendous productions continue to sound as it is Faces, that mythical mixtape from 2014 that had to wait seven years to reach digital platforms so that we could enjoy it without measure.

Well, this time it’s time to take a look at some curiosities of this production.

Mac Miller’s ‘Faces’ Released on Mother’s Day

Coincidence or not, it is difficult to know, but there is a somewhat peculiar fact in the launch of Faces from Mac Miller. As you may recall, the material was released on May 11, 2014 and on that date Mother’s Day was celebrated in the United States. And well, one might think that such an important material could go with a special dedication given the celebration … but maybe it wasn’t the right thing to do.

Why do we say it? If we listen to the song ?Polo Jeans?, we will hear a verse that says ?Just went through a half ounce of coke, blood pouring all out my nose/Don?t tell my Mama I got a drug problem, I?m f-cking high??, whose translation would be ?I just consumed half an ounce of cocaine, the blood gushes from my nose, don’t tell my mother that I have a drug problem, I am very in tune ?.

What an anecdotal fact for Mother’s Day …

Kanye West, Kevin Hart, and other quirky mentions

Faces from Mac Miller dazzles for many reasons ranging from production to the unique musical proposal that the rapper made his trademark. However, there is another interesting detail that we must highlight: mentions to various figures of the show.

And it is that this aspect, without a doubt, speaks of the creativity of the good Mac as a composer. Perhaps one of the most interesting mentions of the mixtape is the one that makes Kanye West on the subject ?What Do Yo Do?, where one of the lines says that ?i love you more than Kanye loves Kanye (te amo más de lo que Kanye ama a Kanye) ?? Yes, we know: that is quite a significant declaration of love.

However, it is curious that Faces came out in May 2014, same month and year that Kanye West and Kim Kardashian got married. Interesting?

But hey, that’s not the only mention made in the material. Mac Miller, out there, also mentions Kevin Hart in different songs and verses in ?Friends?, Christian Dior, Lyor Cohen and Michael Bolton in ?It Just Doesn?t Matter?, a Counting Crows en ?Polo Jeans? o Petey Pablo, Bono, Charlie Conway and Gordon Bombay from Mighty Ducks, Pistol Pete, Justin Bieber in ?Diablo?.

Mac Miller’s puppy

In September 2021, as part of the announcement that Faces would finally reach digital platforms, an animated video for the song was released ?Colours and Shapes?. In it, we can see a cute little dog crossing some gloomy passages and various parts of a metropolis that, it seems, is a recreation of Pittsburgh, the rapper’s hometown. Then we see the puppy in more surreal spaces.

Well, in a statement (via Pitchfork), director and animator Sam Mason revealed that the puppy seen in the video is based on Ralphie, one of Mac Miller’s pets who accompanied him for a long time and that fans will surely remember for many of the photos he uploaded to his social networks.

In fact in July 2014, two months after the original departure of Faces, Ralphie got lost and Mac asked for help by putting signs everywhere. On Twitter, just as CBS reported at the time, the rapper posted “Ralphie was kidnapped. Sthe lady who has my son, I will find her “? Pobre Ralphie.

The comeback of Larry Fisherman

We know that Mac Miller’s real name is Malcolm James McCormick. And well, beyond his stage name, it is also known that the rapper liked to have various pseudonyms when launching certain productions. In that sense, for example, we can frame the names of Delusional Thomas o Larry Lovestein.

For Faces, Mac Miller brought back his alter ego Larry Fisherman, who receives credits as a producer of the mixtape. This name had already been used before for the 2013 works Stolen Youth and Delusional Thomasprecisely. Then came the live record Live From Space and the good Larry I go back to 2014 with the work we are talking about now.

It should be noted that this would also be the last mixtape release that Mac Miller (and consequently Larry Fisherman) would deliver.

The curious anecdote about why he did not sign with the Jay-Z label

Although Mac Miller already had a good number of mixtapes released by 2014 and a couple of studio albums circulating with good critical reception, Faces at the time it was like the icing on the cake of a career that was ready to take the next step: sign with a major label.

In October 2014, just a few months after the official launch of Faces, the rapper signed with Warner Records … but it was not his only option. At that time, as Mac’s collaborator Josh Berg recalls, the artist had several proposals and one of them came from the same Jay-Z and his label Roc-A-Fella.

Berg said in a recent interview with the US edition of GQ that Mac Miller did not sign with the iconic Brooklyn rapper because, in Mac’s own words, “I am not going to allow myself to need the Jay-Z role to become famous, that people validate me and then people think that this is validation”.

Sam Heughan won thousands of hearts with his role as Jamie Fraser in Outlander, but in the same way it cost him a lot to be chosen for the leading role. We tell you why.

In recent years, Netflix has made a catalog of historical series mixing fantasy with drama and ancient times and, among all, Outlander it is one of the most viewed. With five seasons already available on the platform, the strip based on the books by Diana Gabaldón has just finished filming the sixth edition and, after a short break for the actors, they will begin with the production of the seventh.

And, like the first six, the new season of Outlander will also feature Caitriona Balfe as Claire Fraser and Sam Heughan like Jamie Fraser. The actors, who rose to international fame for their leading roles in this strip, continue to enchant locals and strangers with their love story that came to Starz Play in 2014 and continues to be as worthy of applause as the first time.

However, despite the many compliments that both Balfe and Heughan receive every day, there was a moment in which one of them did not have a good time and, it is, neither more nor less than the Scottish heartthrob. As it turns out, as memorable as her performance in the fictional drama is, He was about to be left out of the cast for a somewhat unexpected reason: his hair and his little filmography.

Being a series based on the books by Diana Gabaldón, the production of Outlander She gave the writer a lot of participation and, in fact, it was she who chose a large part of the actors who would play her characters. The fact is that, being the original creator of each one of them, she not only knows better than anyone the essence that they must capture on the screen, but also the characteristics of each one.

So much so that, when she learned that four days after starting to search for the iconic Jamie, the producers had already found the one, she was totally shocked. But, according to what she herself said just a few weeks ago, she was on a trip when they were going to send her the Heughan audition on video and, therefore, she decided to google it.

?They said they were going to send me the audition tapes, but I was traveling so I googled it. At that point he had little film work and just a series of weird stills – his IMDB page was weird“Were his exact words to which he later added:”He is a magnetic, charming young man, and a very chameleonic actor, but he is different, physically in all aspects and one of them is that he is blond?.

Although, it should be noted that those words were not the worst, but later he assured: “I thought it was very grotesque for the character?. Anyway, after seven years watching him play his creation, Diana Gabaldón came to worship Sam Heughan: ?now it’s a running joke between me and sam?, He concluded. In fact, not only that, but when someone sets out to criticize the actor for his performance as Jamie, she often defends him.

Dwayne Johnson & Vin Diesel?s Feud On Fast & Furious Sets Is Popular (Photo Credit: Twitter)

The Fast & Furious is a franchise that has infinite fans across the globe and there is no way the makers are stopping making many of these anytime soon. What has kept it alive for more than 2 decades is the presence of the leading men including the longest member Vin Diesel and the one who joined later Dwayne Johnson. But things aren?t as merry between the two as one might expect. The rift is so deep that The Rock has cut all ties from the main storyline.

While never attacking each other face to face, the two men have time and again been vocal cryptically about their fight. Most recently Vin called his attitude towards the teammates as tough love, and Dwayne even replied to that. But did you know once the Jungle Cruise star ended up calling his ?male? Fast & Furious co-star Chicken Sh*t and the world thought he referred to Diesel? Read on to know everything you should about the same.

While filming the last leg of Fast & Furious 8 back in 2016, Dwayne Johnson wrote a social media post acknowledging the team. He had the nicest things to say about his female co-stars but decided to call out an anonymous male counterpart in his caption.

The Rock wrote, ?There?s no other franchise that gets my blood boiling more than this one. My female costars are always amazing and I love ?em. My male costars, however, are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don?t. The ones that don?t are too chicken sh*t to do anything about it anyway. Candy as*es.?

2 years later when asked about the differences between him and Vin Diesel, Fast & Furious star Dwayne Johnson agreed to them. ?That is correct. We were not in any scenes together,? Johnson said in the Rolling Stone interview. ?Vin and I had a few discussions, including an important face-to-face in my trailer. And what I came to realize is that we have a fundamental difference in philosophies on how we approach moviemaking and collaborating. It took me some time, but I?m grateful for that clarity. Whether we work together again or not.?

Daniel Craig has been retired as James Bond?and none too soon. While Craig is only 53?maybe closer to 50 when the film was made?he?s got a 50-going-on-60 look. The body?s trim enough, but the face reveals a man too old to have smooth-skinned Madeleine (Léa Seydoux, playing the daughter of Vesper Lynd, Bond?s love interest in ?Casino Royale? [1967, 2006]) as an object of (mutual) desire. And much too old for the foxy CIA agent and new Bond girl Paloma (Ana de Armas, who starred with Craig in the 2019 hit, ?Knives Out?), with whom he shares a Cuba gig?but not, thankfully, a bed.

First-time Bond film Director and co-writer Cary Joji Fukunaga handles Craig?s age in a variety of ways: as an older man, he?s now (over-)confidently knowledgeable about the larger issues facing the British secret service, and convinced that his boss, M, has made a tragic error in developing ?Project Heracles,? which has produced a lethal DNA-based bioweapon that is too easily stolen, with dire consequences?echoes of the West?s attempt to keep nuclear technology to itself. It also helps that M (a superb Ralph Fiennes, one of many actors returning from earlier Bond films) is older still, a pasty, ponderous presence that allows Bond to seem downright vigorous and clever?sometimes too clever, as in Bond?s remark to M: ?Has your desk gotten bigger, or have you gotten smaller??

When is a lot of shooting too much?

Most of the action scenes don?t require Craig to engage in hand-to-hand combat or other activities that might reveal his physical limitations (or stretch our credulity even further). Although early scenes feature Bond on a motorcycle, showing off his driving skills as he races up and down the stone stairways of the Southern Italian hill town of Matera, he also smugly occupies a bullet-proof coupe, biding his time until he can activate the machine guns. In later scenes (and the ones set in Cuba), he just shoots faceless people?hundreds of them, many from a considerable distance.

Bond?s quick pivot and a shot into the ?eye,? a motif dating to ?Dr. No? (1962), here presented as part of the story in addition to a brief element of the credits.

Bond aficionados will appreciate the film?s referential quality: a martini, ?shaken not stirred?; Bond?s quick pivot and a shot into the ?eye,? a motif dating to ?Dr. No? (1962), here presented as part of the story in addition to a brief element of the credits; Q?s (Ben Whishaw) cabinet of tech toys, which include a ceramic tea service that?s designed to do who-knows-what, maybe just serve tea; an ironic use of ?Bond, James Bond? at MI6 headquarters; not a few corny or obvious jokes, including ?time to die,? wasted on a figure who?s important to the plot but is really just a nerdy scientist not worthy of the film?s title.

?What?s with the Mormon??, a reference to Troy-Donahue-like Logan Ash (Billy Magnussen?playing a CIA political appointee, for the requisite dig at the United States), may be the film?s funniest line, but if it is, it only proves that Phoebe Waller-Bridge (the creative force of TV?s ?Fleabag?), added as a 5th writer on the film, was not much in the room.

The settings are classic Bond (and classic TV?s ?The Bachelor?), from Southern Italy to Norway to Cuba to a World War II-like bunker on an island between Russia and Japan. And the music lives up to the franchise, from Billie Eilish?s theme song, which won a Grammy (awarded while the film?s release was on ice because of Covid) to the ironic re-use of the sentimental Louis Armstrong rendition of ?All the Time in the World? over the end credits (from ?On Her Majesty?s Secret Service? [1969]).

Lashana Lynch as Nomi, the new 007, part of the
diversified cast.

This almost three-hour-long Bond extravaganza, not based on any of Ian Fleming?s books, also has updated gender and ethnic values. The cast is diverse, introducing Lashana Lynch as Nomi, a second 007: ?your number was not retired.? The women are strong and independent, the bad guys all, well, guys.

Spectre, a non-state criminal organization that first appeared in ?Thunderball? (1961), briefly returns before being wiped out by the bioweapon, leaving alive only its leader, the pure villain Blofeld (Christoph Waltz, dependably excellent), one of two bad guys with only one eye and, in the mode of his confinement in London?s Belmarsh prison, reminiscent of the astute and ever-menacing Anthony Hopkins in ?Silence of the Lambs? (1991). Remarkably, ?No Time to Die? dispenses with any suggestion of an organization, leaving evil to reside in one person, Lyutsifer Safin (sounds like ?Lucifer Satan,? an unnecessary linguistic touch), played by Rami Malek.

We?re supposed to know Lyutsifer Safin (Rami Malek) is nasty because of his bad skin and vaguely Eastern European accent.

Malek, who won an Oscar for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury in 2018?s ?Bohemian Rhapsody,? is disappointing. He?s made up with bad skin (as if that?s a sign of malevolence) and presents Safin with a vaguely Eastern European fake foreign accent, talking with his mouth barely moving. Safin had a hard childhood. His family was killed by Madeleine?s father?surely that must be avenged?and he?s calculated that he and Bond are two versions of the same phenomenon: they?re both killers. While that?s true in a literal sense, it rings false here, in part because the theme is presented in a wooden, didactic interchange between the two, and in part because we?ve been believers in Bond?s (and Britain?s) righteousness for at least 60 years. At best this sort of equivalence is a movie cliché.

Even less credible, Safin articulates the belief that whatever he?s doing (preparing to kill much of the human race) is justified because people want to be controlled?a it does not follow of a high order. Though the people say they want freedom and individualism (a possible reference to contemporary right-wing ideology), they really want to be told what to do. Maybe they just want to die, perhaps especially to die an anonymous, unannounced, death at the hands of the psychotic terrorist Safin and his DNA device. Sure.

This drivel is evidence that the screenplay for ?No Time to Die? is deeply flawed in its efforts to explain the origins of evil: why people do bad things, why some people want to kill others. Ignore all the phooey about freedom and control, and enjoy this latest Bond adventure (the 163 minutes go by fairly quickly) for what it is: the story of a guy who enjoys driving a motorcycle down stone steps, shooting one person after another in a dark stairwell, and embracing a woman half his age. And is too old to be doing any of it.

Strictly: Greg discusses his wife?s hilarious condom gag

Strictly Come Dancing star Greg Wise is well known for being married to Oscar-winning actress Emma Thompson.

They met on the set of their 1995 film Sense and Sensibility, but were both in relationships so their bond didn’t progress past friendship.

In an incredibly complicated love square of our finest British actors, Emma was married to Kenneth Branagh – who was rumoured to have had an affair with Helena Bonham-Carter, leading to their divorce.

Meanwhile, Greg was in a relationship with Titanic actress Kate Winslet.

A psychic friend had told him he would meet his wife on the set of his first big film – and he presumed this must have been about Kate, who played Emma’s sister.

“Everyone else on the film set was married,” he explained to the Express.

“So I thought, ‘It has to be Winslet.’ I asked her out. We went to Glastonbury festival together. But it was the wrong call.”

It was actually Kate who then pointed out what fantastic chemistry Greg had with Emma.

“She pointed out that we were right for each other and told me that Emma?s marriage was over,” he said.

Greg and Emma tied the knot in 2003, while Kate has been married to her third husband Edward Abel Smith since 2012, and the trio are thought to still be good friends despite their unusual situation.

In 1999, Emma and Greg welcomed daughter Gaia, and four years later they informally adopted Tindyebwa Agaba, a Rwandan orphan and former child soldier.

Tindyebwa graduated with two degrees and speak eight languages, and he is now a humanitarian who works with a specialist arm of the Metropolitan Police, helping refugees just like him.

Greg said of the Met Police role: “Tindy is just about to start a job there and he?s doing some very interesting things for them ? an adjunct of the work he was doing in war zones.

“Helping struggling people, working with victims of trafficking and radicalisation? that kind of thing.

“It?s a very rewarding thing to have happened.”

Tindy’s biological father died of AIDs when he was just nine, and when he was 12, soldiers with machine guns stormed his village to kidnap its children.

He was rounded up along with nine other children and marched across unfamiliar bush for days.

His next memory is of arriving at a prison camp where he would remain for three years ? to be radicalised, brainwashed and trained as a child soldier.

Aged 16, having finally escaped Rwanda, thanks to the kindness of a charity worker at Care International, he boarded a flight for London to claim asylum.

But he ended up living a difficult life, sleeping rough on the streets around London?s Trafalgar Square.

He met Emma when she offered him help at a Refugee Council event, before tracking him down again and inviting him round for a Christmas Eve dinner.

That dinner turned into regular stays at her £15million house in West Hampstead, North London, where he was given his own room, and that turned to whole weekends, and whole weeks.

In the end, Emma and Greg adopted him “informally” ? as by then, Tindy was enough to make his own legal decisions, and he moved in with the family permanently.

Speaking about the reasons they decided to informally adopt Tindy, Emma has previously said: “Sometimes being friends is not enough.

“You need family. I think we don?t talk enough about the happiness that it gives you to find new connections with strangers and people who aren?t familiar to you.”

Speaking ahead of his Strictly debut, Greg explained he has a touching reason for taking part – his sister Clare, who died of cancer in 2016, aged 51.

“I was asked and I thought, ‘No, I absolutely can?t do it’,” Greg said during a press webinar.

“And then I thought about it. Almost exactly five years to the day my sister died will be the first day we do our routines on this and my sis was a real disco diva.

“She was the dancer in the family and she left this world in a glitterball coffin, and as this show is all glittery and diva-y and disco-y, I thought I had to do it for her.”

After more than a year of delays, Ghostbusters: Afterlife is finally headed to theaters. The newest movie in the franchise is a direct sequel to Ghostbusters 2, which was released more than 30 years ago. Its director, Jason Reitman, is the son of Ivan Reitman, who directed both of the original Ghostbusters films. Ahead of the movie?s official release on Nov. 19, Polygon had the chance to see the movie during its special surprise screening at New York Comic Con, and we have some spoiler-free thoughts on the ghostly new movie.

Fair warning, the movie?s premise is explained below, along with content from the first trailer. But we aren?t revealing anything else, and certainly none of the movie?s biggest surprises.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife follows Callie (The Leftovers? Carrie Coon) and her children Trevor (Stranger Things? Finn Wolfhard), and Phoebe (Mckenna Grace), as they move from their life in the city to a broken-down farmhouse in the middle of nowhere, which Callie?s estranged father owned and died in. As it turns out, her father also happened to be Egon Spengler, the former Ghostbuster originally played by Harold Ramis. The movie overall is a touching tribute to Ramis, the co-writer and co-star of the original films, who passed away in 2014.

Inside the house, Egon left seemingly hundreds of tools, gadgets, and Ghostbusting paraphernalia for Phoebe and Trevor to discover, and for longtime fans to cheer over. These moments of nostalgia are littered all over the place, and the references are mostly harmless fan service ? even if it occasionally feels like the camera lingers too long on a prop or two from the original movie. The one real exception is a cloying moment near the end of the movie that sends it hurtling over the nostalgia cliff, and sours the whole experience a bit.

Image: Columbia Pictures

Unlike other recent long-delayed sequels, like Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Afterlife sidesteps the worst nostalgia traps by making children its primary characters. Trevor and Phoebe don?t idolize the Ghostbusters ? they?ve barely even heard of them, which leaves the enthusiasm for the fans in the theater, rather forcing it out of the actors on screen.

The most commendable part of Afterlife may be its structure, and how little it looks like the original Ghostbusters, even though the movies? stories share more than a few similarities. There?s no attempt to form a new Ghostbusting team, or to recapture the magic and chemistry of the original stars. Instead, Reitman focuses on building strong characters ? something he excelled at in his previous movies, like Up in the Air and Juno ? and bringing them into the world of Ghostbusters. Rather than a work of pure reinvention, Afterlife feels more like an expansion of the universe, and of the limits defining what a Ghostbusters movie can be. This movie says a Ghostbusters story can be about kids finding where they fit into the world, just as much as it can be about Bill Murray flirting with Sigourney Weaver after she?s turned into the herald of a Sumerian god.

Those kids are really the stars of this show. Rather than a witty one-liner comedy like the first two movies, Ghostbusters: Afterlife is more like an Amblin Entertainment movie, full of adolescent adventures and a few jokes along the way. There are sweeping scenes of kids getting into trouble, and discovering first crushes and first friends. Adults like Paul Rudd, playing a science teacher named Gary Gruberson, show up to offer the kids some help, or at least some funny exposition.

The performances by the movie?s young actors are mostly winning, but the two standouts by far are Mckenna Grace?s Phoebe and her first-ever friend, who calls himself Podcast because he hosts one. Podcast is played by newcomer Logan Kim, who is hilarious, charming, and a natural-born scene-stealer. But while Kim provides most of the movie?s best jokes, Grace handles just about everything else. If this movie rests on the shoulders of any one character, it?s Phoebe, who is socially awkward, a little weird, and tremendously smart ? exactly what Ghostbusters fans would expect from Egon?s granddaughter.

Grace is outstanding in the role, and she echoes Ramis without ever imitating him, making the character uniquely her own. She even has to match up with Carrie Coon in the movie?s most dramatic scenes and Rudd in its most comedic, and she?s excellent at each. Grace has already been great in a few movies ? including playing the younger version of half the blonde actresses in Hollywood over the last few years ? but in Ghostbusters: Afterlife, she may have finally found her star-making role.

Mckenna Grace with a proton pack in Ghostbusters: Afterlife

Image: Columbia Pictures

Even with its emphasis on its new young characters, Ghostbusters: Afterlife is still stuffed with references, inside jokes, and reverence for the original movies in the series. There are dozens of tiny moments that will make die-hard Ghostbusters fans cheer ? and they certainly cheered at Comic Con. But the most exciting thing about the movie is how it looks to welcome a new generation of kids into the Ghostbusters world, both onscreen and off. With Afterlife?s endless string of callbacks, Jason Reitman lovingly pays homage to his father?s series, but the new characters are where Jason?s own intimate and personal style of filmmaking shines through. Because of that, it seems fitting that Ghostbusters: Afterlife is at its best when it?s about young characters finding their place in a pop-culture landscape their predecessors built.

Very good news for Star Trek fans. Well. perhaps it depends on the slope of which you are each. Since the famous ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ was released there have been a great debate among fans to know which captain was better. On one side were the followers of Kirk and on the other we have the followers of Picard. Well the good news comes for the seconds because Patrick Stewart will return to play the role that so much fame gods.

Already 16 years that the actor did not play this role again. It was in the movie ‘Star Trek: Nemesis’ that we could see him playing the heavy role of Captain Picard. Now after the Star Trek convention in Las Vegas, Alex Kurtzman would have taken Patrick Stewart and would have announced this bombshell.

The actor would not only have made the announcement at the convention but later he would have spoken on his twitter account with a letter on the matter:

It’s an unexpected but somewhat delightful surprise to find myself so excited to return to the role of Jean-Luc Picard and explore new dimensions within it.

Within the message itself upload a photo with what would be a letter indicating your feelings and desire to carry out this stage in your life:

I will always be very proud to have been a part of ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’, but when we finished the film in spring 2002, I truly felt that my time with Star Trek had come to an end. It is, therefore, an unexpected but delicious surprise to find myself so excited to be Jean-Luc Picard again and to explore new dimensions of him. Looking for a new life for him, when I thought it was over.

During these years, it has been very exciting to hear so many stories about how ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ brought so much comfort to people, saw them go through difficult periods in their lives or how, for example, Jean-Luc inspired so many. to follow in his footsteps, in search of science, exploration and leadership. I feel like I’m ready to return to character for the same reason: to investigate and experience what light can comfort and reshape in these dark times. I look forward to working with our new creative team as we strive to bring a new, unexpected and relevant story to life.

Declarations very encouraging from Patrick Stewart, which give rise to that he is full of desire to return to interpret the character. This feeling is not only strong in him, but in many of the fans who grew up with his series it is the same.

The series that will bring the character back will arrive on the platform that CBS is preparing. This would have been announced through the official account of the franchise:

The time to do it has come! Patrick Stewart will return to his iconic role as Jean-Luc Picard in a new Star Trek series for CBS All Acess that will tell the next chapter in Picard’s life.

Still We are missing a series premiere date and some more information on possible character repetitions, but surely iThey will report it after such a bombshell. Now to prepare for the new Picard series as captainIf you haven’t seen its first stage, you still have time this summer.
